Jannat Al-Baqi

Jannat al-Baqi, also referred as Baqi’ al-Gharqad is another place to visit in Madinah. It is recognized as one of the most sacred places in Madinah. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) built the cemetery there and the graves of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) wives, his daughters, his grandson Hasan, Companions of Muhammad, and his infant son Ibrahim lie there.

Masjid Al-Qiblatain

Masjid al-Qiblatain is historically important to Muslims because it was the mosque where the first congregational prayers were held, following the change. It is said to have been constructed during the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the named masjid al-Qiblatain after the event of changing the direction (Qibla) of prayer from Jerusalem to the holy Kaaba in Makkah.

Site of the Battle of Trench

This place is known as Ghazwa-e-Khandaq, located on the western edge of Sela Mountain. Here, the battle of Trench (Khandaq) took place where the Muslims dug a trench to defend the city from the Quraish tribe.
