GETTING READY FOR HAJJ

Physically

Ensure that you are physically fit to take on this journey. Hajj requires a decent number of stamina to perform the rituals so you need to be in good shape in order to do so. Have a healthy diet with immunity-boosting foods so you avoid getting sick during the journey. However, if you start to feel unwell, take medicine and precautions timely. Most importantly, stay hydrated during the entire journey, drink Zamzam water as much as you can and rest in your accommodation, whenever you get the time.

Mentally

You need to be familiar with the rules and requirements for performing Hajj. It is best to be prepared beforehand – learn about it from scholars or those who have performed it and plan carefully. Learn about the designated timings for men and women and any restrictions to take note of. Since Hajj is once in life opportunity, make the most out of it and be prepared well for it! Do not waste your time or argue with others during the trip – form good relations with others, especially with the people you are travelling with.

Spiritually

You should have a decent knowledge regarding Hajj and its purpose so that you are motivated and earn maximum rewards. Read and listen to lectures on Hajj before setting on the journey. Take advice and tips from those who have performed Hajj. As it is the major pilgrimage and one of the pillars of Islam, you need to get the most out of it. If you are spiritually energised, only then you can take on this journey as it requires patience, no distractions and full focus towards performing the duties.
