WHAT IS THE MIQAT BOUNDARY?
Miqat, which translates to “a stated place,” is the boundary or line after which a pilgrim meaning to perform Umrah or Hajj must enter the state of Ihram. This involves performing the acts of cleaning and wearing the appropriate clothing as prescribed for both men and women. A pilgrim enters the state of Ihram and recites Talbiyah at the Miqat station.
There are 5 Miqat stations for pilgrims who travel from around the world. A person travelling from a certain country needs to know from where and when to make the intention to perform the Umrah/Hajj and from where the Ihram clothing is obligatory.
